Today’s show was all about value investing with Scott Phillips of the Lauren Templeton Foundation. Scott is the author of the upcoming book, Buying at the Point of Maximum Pessimism: Six Value Investing Trends from China to Oil to Agriculture.
Scott suggested checking out for-profit education as a popular “pessimistic” play. He disclosed the Templeton portfolio owned shares in Apollo (APOL). This is something worth checking out.

Some of those talking head analysis tickers on the major financial websites are ridiculous, however this one that focuses on rising gas prices is one worth paying attention to. We’re in a sort of middle-ground right now and something has to give. That could mean higher prices at the pump come summertime.
