Listen to Wednesday’s DMBIZSHOW
First, sorry I’m late with this. I’m not making excuses, but sometimes nature calls. And when nature calls out to you with her voice, so mellifluous, so powerful, so yearning, one must latch onto that voice and let it carry them to wherever it wants them to go. In this case, it was to the Home Depot.
David got stuck on the mountain today and missed the first half of the show in body. He was with us, though, in spirit and voice via telephone.
Akio Toyoda finally testified in the States. The apparent conflict of interest did not go unnoticed, however. It does seem peculiar that we’ve managed to build a system where the owners (the government) of car companies (chrysler, Gm) are allowed to wrist-slap a competitor (toyota). We need to FIX THE SYSTEM. Right?
My favorite topic in life is death. We discussed this story from the WSJ about struggling casket manufacturers during the recession. Apparently, more folks are opting for the cremation route once death comes a ‘knockin. This trend may also indicate a movement away from spirituality and a belief in the afterlife. I’ve given it a lot of thought and I’m not sure if I care what’s done with my body after I’ve passed. I could force my friends to replicate GG Allin’s funeral. Or, instead of being cremated, I could opt to be creamed. David wants us to eat sushi off of his naked carcass…..
